We just finished having strep for the entire household. The first child (age 10) to get sick, I gave 1 tsp of oregano tincture, double strength (brewed twice) every day for 3-4 days. 1-2 weeks later, I became sick Sunday night. Monday, I went to urgent care to get swabbed. It came back positive for Strep Throat. They prescribed me a zpack. I took the Zpack until Friday. Friday my 14 year old got symptoms. I treated with 1 tsp of the tincture every day until Tuesday. He feels great! As does the 10-year-old.
My Sore throat did not leave until 7 days from when I initially started taking the zpack. My conclusions are that the oregano tincture is perhaps more efficient and effective than the zpack. I understand that the zpack is there to prevent rheumatoid fever, but after almost 2 weeks since my first dose of azithromycin, I still do not feel well and am wishing I would have just done the oregano tincture instead.

So just to clarify, if symptoms are mild, is it possible to overcome strep throat without needing antibiotics, by using these natural remedies?

I’m trying to avoid antibiotics because I have gastritis and have made so much progress, but antibiotics will tear up my stomach. I also have a very sensitive gut.

I’m hoping there’s a way to get over this without antibiotics. Really grateful for this post. Thank you!

Hello,
My daughter had strep throat a lot when she was younger. After bringing her to my naturopath who suggested she swish/gargle with liquid stevia 3xday for 10 days, she never got strep throat again. The liquid stevia helps get rid of the biofilms that are left behind in the mouth/throat area.
